Compass Regional Hospice Awarded Caroline Foundation Grant

DENTON — Compass Regional Hospice was honored to be among the 22 grant recipients at the Caroline Foundation’s 2019 Grants Breakfast. This year, The Caroline Foundation received 31 grant requests for over $1,100,000, issued 22 grants equaling $716.000, bringing the grand total to $2,000,000 in grants given over the past 4 years. The grant awarded to Compass will go towards their Patient Care program.

Compass Regional Hospice is the sole provider of hospice care and grief support to the residents of Caroline County. In the last two years, Compass has provided patient care to more than 350 Caroline County residents, and provided grief support for more than 500. This vital service is provided based on need, and no one is ever turned away because of inability to pay. Their grief support services are offered not only to the family members of patients, but also to all members of the community grieving the death of loved one. All grief services are free of charge, and they continue to work in partnership with the public schools supporting adolescent grief support needs as well.

The Caroline Foundation benefits and provides economic support to organizations that provide medical and health-related services to residents of Caroline County, Maryland. Each year the Caroline Foundation, in partnership with the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, invites nonprofit organizations that provide medical and health-related services to residents of Caroline County to apply for grant funding.
