Talbot County DSS Hosts 12th Annual Back to School Event

Easton – Talbot County Department of Social Services (DSS) held its 12th annual Back to School event providing school supplies and tote bags to 93 middle/high school students and 148 elementary school students in Talbot County. The remaining supplies went to support two other community events: Neighborhood Block Party at For All Seasons and the Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. school supply giveaway.

Vendors this year included: Amerigroup, who provided the tote bags and English and Spanish books; Channel Marker, Inc., Mid Shore Behavioral Health, Priority Partners, Maryland Legal Aid, Talbot Hunger Coalition, Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center, Agape Ministries, Healthy Talbot, Talbot County Health Department, and Talbot County Free Library. Acme donated 15 cases of chilled water and the First Baptist Church of Easton and Bay Area Community Church provided ice pops to the children and adults.
