Upcoming Programs at the Historical Society of Kent County
A Free Talk and Mini-Workshop, and Three More Lunch & Lores
CHESTERTOWN, Md.— The Historical Society of Kent County invites the all to Paper Trails: Stories & Storage Tips from the Library Catalog Project, a free talk and mini-workshop exploring the behind-the-scenes work of the Society’s research library.
Museums professional Lana Faber will share updates from the ongoing Library Catalog Project, which is bringing HSKC’s unique research library into a standardized, searchable catalog system. Attendees will get an inside look at the progress so far, what’s next for the project, and perhaps some tidbits about some of the items that have been uncovered along the way.
Complementing the update on the library, Faber will lead a hands-on mini-workshop on simple ways to preserve paper artifacts at home using basic office supplies. Participants will learn practical techniques to keep family letters, photographs, and documents in good condition for years to come.
Paper Trails: Stories & Storage Tips from the Library Catalog Project will take place at the Bordley History Center November 20 at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, and all are welcome, but reservations are requested to ensure there are enough materials for everyone. Click here to reserve a seat.
