University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s 2025 Nurse Excellence Awards Presented at Chesapeake College

Claudia Tilley, MSN, RN, APRN-CNS, AGNS-BC and Amanda Nelson, BSN, RN, CCRN, were honored as co-winners of the 2025 Nurse of the Year award at the annual University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) Nurse Excellence Awards Ceremony. UM SRH is a member organization of the University Maryland Medical System.
Nelson and Tilley were chosen by an independent panel of judges from over 100 nominations submitted by team members. The annual award recognizes nursing excellence achieved through leadership, professionalism, commitment to others and commitment to patient experience.

DAISY® Award for Nurse Leaders – Mary Collins, BSN, RN, 2 East Multispecialty Care and Dialysis, UM Shore Medical Center at Easton
DAISY® Award for Nurse Educators – Diana Neal, BSN, RN, CEN, Emergency Department, UM Shore Regional Health at Cambridge
“I am extremely proud of all of this year’s Nurse Excellence Award nominees and winners,” said Danielle Wilson, BSN, RN, NE-BC, Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President, Patient Care Services. “These exceptional nurses are a testament to the mission and values of Shore Regional Health and demonstrate a true commitment to the highest levels of patient care.”
Another highlight of the program was the presence of UM SRH members of the Maryland Nurse Honor Guard. Led by Pam Pardun, BSN, RN, Nursing Support Specialist, the Honor Guard called attention to seven retired UM SRH nurses who were in attendance at the event: Cathy Asche, Julie Bryan, Ruth Ann Jones, Sharon Stagg, Stacey Stanley, Ruth Sullivan and Diane Walbridge.
