Introducing the Delmarva Cybersecurity Foundation

To the Businesses & Residents of Delmarva:

It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to introduce to you the Delmarva Cybersecurity Foundation.

Over the last five years, I have worked alongside some of the most talented cybersecurity professionals in the country, right here in Maryland. During my time working in Private and Governmental Organizations, it became clear that there needs to be a more holistic and early-stage approach to defending our Nation and its Infrastructure against cyberattacks and cybercrime.

Technology is an essential part of our lives yet cybersecurity isn’t fully introduced until college-level instruction. It is pertinent that our local businesses and municipalities band together and collaborate on cybersecurity. We need to bring more businesses to the table to help assess and protect our infrastructure. One of the most significant gaps in cybersecurity is the local small businesses, many here in Delmarva. Forbes suggests that more than 30% of all cyberattacks are against small business.
But we argue that figure is much higher, we don’t have good data available as these incidents often go unreported.

To better combat the significant threats of cyberattacks and cybercrime I invite you to check out www.delmarvacyber.org to learn more. Education boosts awareness and understanding. If your business, municipality, non- profit or school seeks a speaker on this topic, please contact me. We also hope that you will consider donating or partnering to support this most critical area, which impacts every organization, large and small.
