Mid-Shore Appreciates Foster Parents Virtually

Easton, MD – As with all events lately, the Mid-Shore Departments of Social Services had to pivot and figure out a creative way to celebrate the dedication and service of its foster families. This year, the Departments decided to provide a seafood feast to each foster family. Gift certificates were provided to families who ordered their feasts to accommodate their schedules.

“Thank you for the TL Seafood Gift Certificate! Our family enjoyed steamed snow crab legs, shrimp and steamed Maryland blue crabs. They were all delicious and very well enjoyed. Thank you for thinking of us. You make us feel so genuinely appreciated,” said Jeanne Scharf, one of Talbot County’s foster parents.

Paris Quillet, LMSW, Special Projects Coordinator for the Talbot County Department of Social Services commented, “We are so appreciative of everything our parents have done during the pandemic. They have gone above and beyond in accommodating children who have needed care. We are blessed to have their flexibility and caring and enjoyed providing this special time for their families.”
