City of Newark Resumes Limited In-Person Services

The City of Newark Municipal Building located at 220 South Main Street has reopened for in-person services. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with the first hour designated for the elderly and at-risk customers. Service windows will close daily from noon until 1:00 p.m. for mid-day cleaning.

Customer Service Representatives will be available from Payments and Utility Billing, Planning and Development and Parks and Recreation. Customers entering the building will be required to check-in with their desired department and will be assisted on a first come, first-served basis. The City Hall atrium will have socially distant seating available and directional signage to ensure all patrons are entering and exiting in the same direction. Hand sanitizer will also be available in multiple locations. An Alderman’s Court bailiff will assist with directing foot traffic and monitoring occupancy.

Per Governor Carney’s State of Emergency order, masks must be worn unless a medical condition exists. The City asks those who are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 continue to complete business online.
