UM Shore Regional Health Cancer Center Offers Transition to Wellness Workshop for Breast Cancer Survivors
Easton Md. – The Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health’s Survivors Offering Support (SOS) Mentoring Program will offer the workshop, “Transition to Wellness” for breast cancer survivors on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cancer Center at UM Shore Regional Health.
Designed for breast cancer survivors who have completed treatment or are nearing the end of treatment, this free workshop provides information on key health areas such as nutrition, fitness and the importance of self-care for patients as they move into survivorship. A panel of breast cancer survivors will be on hand to answer any questions about life beyond breast cancer and the program includes a light dinner.
To RSVP, contact Lisa Sheehan, SOS program coordinator, 410-822-1000, ext. 7161, lisa.sheehan@umm.edu by January 17, 2020.
The Survivors Offering Support (SOS) Mentoring Program seeks breast cancer survivors who are at least 12 months out from treatment to become volunteer mentors to newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
“Being a mentor with SOS is a wonderful opportunity to walk alongside other women who are in the early stages of diagnosis and offer emotional support and a listening ear as someone who has ‘been there’,” says Sheehan. If you or someone you know has a caring heart and would be interested in becoming a mentor, please get in touch with Sheehan via the contact information listed above.
