Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network Investigation In Cecil County Results In Arrest Of Drug Suspect
NORTH EAST, MD – After a month-long Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN) investigation into an interstate drug trafficking operation, Maryland State Police have arrested a Cecil County man on drug charges.
The suspect, identified as Jason Jones, Jr, 40, of North East, Maryland, is charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. After being seen by a District Court Commissioner in Cecil County, Maryland, Jones is being held at the Cecil County Detention Center without bond.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police, Criminal Enforcement Division, Special Investigation Section, along with investigators from the Maryland State Police Gang Enforcement Unit, Firearms Enforcement Unit, members of the Elkton Police Department and troopers from the North East Barrack assisted with this arrest.
According to a preliminary investigation, Jones was arrested today in a residence on the unit block of Sycamore Drive in North East, Maryland. While serving a search warrant, investigators recovered approximately 148 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
This law enforcement operation was made possible, in part, by funding from the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention (GOCCP), Maryland Criminal Investigation Network (MCIN). The Maryland State Police and the Elkton Police Department are active Cecil MCIN partners.
