Local Hearing Care Group Holds Donation Challenge – 60 for 60 Challenge Food Drive

Chesapeake Hearing Centers is holding a 60 for 60 Challenge through the end of 2019 to honor the 60th birthday of its president, Tim Aland. The goal is to collect 60 pounds of nonperishable food items at each of their seven locations to be donated to local food pantries for those in need during the holidays.

Chesapeake Hearing Centers is no stranger to community service. For years, in addition to the food-donation programs they regularly host, they have donated used hearing aids to be refurbished and provided free of charge to those who might not otherwise be able to afford hearing aids, both in the U.S. and abroad. They support the military by hosting letter-writing campaigns, provide free hearing screenings at local hospitals and senior centers, and support local community organizations through sponsorships.

“Helping people is what we do daily” stated Tim Aland. “We connect people with better hearing but that’s only part of our mission. Nothing could make my birthday better than knowing we have helped people in our community put food on the table and maybe some smiles on their faces!”

Local community members are invited to bring nonperishable food items in quantities of 60 — ounces, cans, pounds, etc. — to any of the practice’s seven locations in Annapolis, Severna Park, Columbia, Kent Island, Easton Salisbury and Ocean Pines. Every donation helps someone in the community who needs a little support, and anyone who donates is eligible for a drawing to win a free ham or turkey.
