Erin O’Relly – Shorewoman of the Week
Sophomore soccer player Erin O’Reilly (Northborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) is this week’s Shorewoman of the Week. O’Reilly scored one goal in each of the Shorewomen’s two season-opening wins and added one assist in the second of those victories.
In a double-overtime 1-0 win at Wesley Friday night, O’Reilly scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 106th minute. The next night, O’Reilly scored the Shorewomen’s fifth goal in the 77th minute and assisted on the sixth goal in the 84th minute of a 6-0 home victory over Rosemont.
This is O’Reilly’s second career Shorewoman of the Week honor.
James Strine – Shoreman of the Week
Junior men’s soccer player James Strine (Hockessin, Del./Salesianum School) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Strine scored a pair of goals in the Shoremen’s season-opening 2-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan Friday.
Strine scored the game’s first goal in the 10th minute and then scored on a free kick in the 30th to break a 1-1 tie. The following day, he notched five shots, including four on goal, in a 2-1 double-overtime win over Keystone as the Shoremen claimed the Athey Cup.
This is Strine’s first career Shoreman of the Week honor.
