Talbot Community Connections received a $850 donation from Doc’s Downtowne Grille for the Talbot County Children’s Advocacy Center (TCCAC) in Easton. The Center provides assistance to child victims of sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. The Talbot County Children’s Advocacy Center Victim Services Program provides multi-disciplinary team support to children under the age of 18 from Talbot County. Children from Talbot, Dorchester, Caroline, Kent, and Queen Anne’s counties also have access to forensic medical exams through the Mid-Shore Victim Services Program. In 2018, 76 children were served.

Talbot Community Connections (TCC), an eleven-member volunteer board, was formed to raise funds to enhance the Talbot County Department of Social Services’ (TCDSS) capacity to respond directly to problems of safety and well-being of county citizens. The funds raised provide help to abused children through the Talbot County Children’s Advocacy Center (TCCAC), families in crisis, the unemployed and working poor, and disabled and frail elderly. TCC awards provided funds for respite care, prevention of evictions and utility disconnects, therapeutic activities for children with disabilities in foster care, housing fuel, transportation, and a fatherhood program. TCC funds are able to help individuals stay in the community, families stay united and families stay in their homes. In 2018, TCC donated $29,400 to support the Talbot County Department of Social Services and the Talbot County Children’s Advocacy Center.
