Soroptimist International of Kent & Queen Anne’s Counties 49th Annual Award Banquet

Chestertown, MD – The 49th Annual Awards Banquet was held on April 15, 2019 at the Amy Lynn Ferris Adult Activities Center in Chestertown.

Charlotte Rogers is the Soroptimist International of Kent & Queen Anne’s Counties “Live Your Dream” winner. She received a $2,000 award. She is a mother of 5 children and a recent widow. She received her GED, and Charlotte enrolled in Chesapeake College. Charlotte’s present goal is to be a Surgical Tech. After achieving her first milestone on her journey, Charlotte plans to enroll in the Nursing Program.

Charlotte is the Soroptimist International Central East Coast Region winner.

The “Live Your Dream” award is given to a female head of household, enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program, and with financial need.

The high school girls, one from each of the High Schools in Kent and Queen Anne’s County each received $500. This award is based on their community service.
