First Varsity Eight & Ethan Osgood are Washington College’s Shorewoman/Shoreman of the Week
First Varsity Eight – Shorewoman of the Week
The coxswain and eight rowers of the women’s rowing team’s first varsity eight share this week’s Shorewoman of the Week honor. The first varsity eight won its event to clinch the Shorewomen’s seventh consecutive Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championship Saturday.
The first varsity eight won its heat in 7:57.75 to advance to the grand final and then won the grand final in 7:46.42. The Shorewomen’s seventh straight conference title also granted them their sevent consecutive trip to the NCAA Division III Championship.
The first varsity eight consisted of junior coxswain Olivia Robb (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville), sophomore rower Agnes Anderson (Ulster Park, N.Y./Kingston), sophomore rower Gabrielle Francis (Laurelton, N.Y./Jamaica Gateway to the Sciences), junior rower Erika Reynolds (Finksburg, Md./Notre Dame Prep), senior rower Kelin McCloskey (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville), senior rower Karis Marano (Catonsville, Md./Catonsville), junior rower Emma Hogan (Hagerstown, Md./St. Maria Goretti), senior rower Leslie Collins (Newark, Del./Ursuline Academy), and freshman Caroline Jackson (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck)
Ethan Osgood – Shoreman of the Week
Sophomore pitcher Ethan Osgood (Glen Gardner, N.J./Voorhees) is this week’s Shoreman of the Week. Osgood went seven innings, struck out 10 batters, and gave up no earned runs in a 16-1 win over Ursinus Saturday.
Osgood allowed just one unearned run on six hits and one walk in the victory. He finished the season 5-1 with a 1.03 ERA in 43.2 innings.
This is Osgood’s first career Shoreman of the Week honor.
