A Study of Access and Use in Maryland’s Individual Health Insurance Market Three Public Meetings Scheduled
The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) intends to conduct a market research study to identify the barriers to purchasing health insurance coverage and, for those who do purchase health insurance coverage, the barriers to utilizing essential health benefits for people in low income, rural and underserved areas in the State.
Additional information about this Study may be found on the MIA’s website on the left side of the home page under the tab entitled “Access and Use in Maryland’s Individual Health Insurance Market” or by accessing this hyperlink:
https://insurance.maryland.gov/Consumer/Pages/Access-and-Use-in-Maryland’s-Individual-Health-Insurance-Market.aspx
Interested parties are invited to attend the following public meetings in order to offer comments and suggestions for this Study. In addition to the MIA, representatives from the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange will be attending. The agenda for each meeting will be the same. Representatives will provide an overview of the Study, listen to stakeholder testimony, and answer questions.
Volunteers are needed for surveys and focus groups. Potential volunteers are encouraged to attend a public meeting. Also, the MIA will be including information related to volunteering on its website at the above hyperlink in the next several days. For those who cannot attend in person, the conference call numbers for each meeting are listed below.
A sign-in sheet will be available at each meeting. We ask that each attendee sign in and indicate whether you would like to testify and/or volunteer. If you will be participating by conference call and would like to testify or if you have any questions, please email:
