National Nutrition Month with Shore Regional Health
Easton, Md. – March is National Nutrition Month and to celebrate, UM Shore Regional Health dietitians and diabetes educators are offering events to help individuals and families follow the Nutrition Month theme, “Eat Right, Live Right, Feel Right.” Learn about diet, nutrition, weight loss and maintaining your overall health by attending a free program in Cambridge, Chestertown or Easton.
Food Shopping for Health — fun, free grocery store tours guided by registered dietitians and focusing on how to shop and plan meals for optimal health — are offered as follows:
In Chestertown on Wednesday, March 13 at 2 p.m., at the ACME, 711 Washington Avenue. This tour will be led by Christine Allen, registered dietitian, UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown. RSVP: 410-778-7668, ext. 2297.
In Cambridge on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m., at Walmart, 2775 Dorchester Square. This tour will be led by DonJurea Daniels, registered dietitian, UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester. RSVP: 410-822-1000, ext. 5351.
In Easton on Monday, March 25, 5:30 p.m. at Giant Foods, 8223 Elliott Road. This tour will be led by Karen Hollis, registered dietitian, UM Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology. RSVP: 410-822-1000, ext. 5188.
There also will be a Nutrition Services Open House on Monday, March 20, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., in the Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Center, UM Shore Medical Center at Dorchester. This event will provide the opportunity to meet Shore Regional Health’s registered dietitians and learn about new nutrition services at Dorchester. There will be healthy refreshments, games and more.
