Caroline County Commissioners Appoint Goldman as County Administrator
The County Commissioners of Caroline County have announced the appointment of Jeremy Goldman as County Administrator. Mr. Goldman will take his post on January 23, 2019.
Mr. Goldman comes to Caroline County with a wealth of experience in local government, having most recently served at the County Manager for Dorchester County. Prior to becoming County Manager, Mr. Goldman served Dorchester as Director of Emergency Services. Mr. Goldman has spent his time in local government focusing on strategic planning, improving service delivery, project management, and economic development. He has also placed a strong emphasis on employee development, recruitment, and retention.
“Jeremy brings a wide scope of knowledge about local government and the Mid-Shore region to the job,” said President Larry Porter. “He’ll be able to hit the ground running on day one to tackle the challenges we are facing and make the most of the opportunities before us.”
During his time in Dorchester County, Mr. Goldman led and finalized several large projects including expansions at both the landfill and airport, the update of the county Comprehensive Plan, and the replacement and upgrade of the Emergency Services radio and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems.
“We’re excited to have Jeremy on board,” said Vice President Dan Franklin. “His knowledge of Emergency Services will be a real asset as those operations continue to grow and we look ahead to projects like the implementation of next generation 911.”
Mr. Goldman holds a master’s Degree in Emergency Health Services Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration from Columbia Southern University. He has extensive experience in managing a full-service county organization with a wide range of departments and staff. He has overseen both operation and capital budgets, as well as investment policies.
Mr. Goldman’s experience with allied agencies and local partners on the Eastern Shore will make his transition into Caroline County smooth. “Partnership is the foundation of the ‘Caroline Way,’ and we were impressed by Jeremy’s ability to bring people together to find solutions,” said Commissioner Wilbur Levengood.
“I’m very happy to be joining the team and I’m grateful to the Commissioners for placing me in this position of trust and responsibility,” Mr. Goldman said. “Caroline County has so much potential. I’ve always been impressed by the County’s ability to do a lot with a little and I look forward to building on that foundation.”
Mr. Goldman lives on a small farm just over the Caroline County line in Delaware with his wife Lori and their dogs, chickens, and beef cattle. They were recently thrilled to become first-time grandparents to a baby girl named Evelyn.
