The Kent Island Elks Lodge 2576 recently presented a $1,500 National Elks Foundation “150th Anniversary Grant” check to Compass Regional Hospice’s Camp New Dawn program, a grief retreat summer camp for children, teens and families that takes place at Camp Pecometh every August. The camp costs $30 per child and $75 per family, but no one is turned away based on an inability to pay.

The Elks donation will go toward funding camp opportunities for those who are suffering the loss of a loved one but could not otherwise afford to attend.
