Caroline County Libraries open after “two paws up”
Denton & Federalsburg libraries open at noon Monday; sniffer dog Drax gives both “two paws up”
After proactive weekend treatments at the Denton and Federalsburg libraries for bedbugs, sniffer dog “Drax” returned to the libraries to verify that all suspicious areas had been resolved. Drax gave both the Denton and Federalsburg locations ”two paws up” and both locations reopen to the public at noon on Monday, October 29, 2018
Due to scheduling of the heat treatment, North County Greensboro Branch will be treated the week of October 29, 2018 and should be open the following week.
Library Director Debby Bennett said, “With heat treatment and verification of the effectiveness of the treatment, we have taken every precaution to ensure that our collection is safe and that our library locations are free of bedbugs. As this issue continues to arise in hotels, homes, libraries and other public spaces, we will remain vigilant. Library staff members have been trained to recognize signs of bedbugs and will continue to inspect all materials that are returned to the library. We appreciate our customers’ support and patience.”
Library customers may return materials at one of the open locations. All late fees will be waived for the period that the libraries were closed.
