Estate Treasures raises $3,400 for Compass Regional Hospice
CHESTER — Estate Treasures, an upscale resale shop in Chester, raised $3,400 for Compass Regional Hospice during its September warehouse sale, with 125 shoppers taking advantage of the bargains.
The next warehouse sale is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at its storage unit, 106 Log Canoe Circle, Chesapeake Business Park, Stevensville.
An affiliate of Compass Regional Hospice, Estate Treasures has been raising money for hospice care and grief support provided in Queen Anne’s County for more than 25 years. The proceeds from the October sale will benefit Compass Regional Hospice, which offers individuals, families and the community “Care on your terms” through comprehensive, professional and compassionate end-of-life care and grief support.
Compass Regional Hospice takes care of infants and children, as well as adults in need of its programs, which in addition to hospice care include grief counseling and support groups, and patients are never turned away based on an inability to pay for services. Because of this, there is a $1.4 million funding gap between what the organization receives in service payments and the actual cost of care provided.
The warehouse sale will feature deeply discounted furniture, tools, sporting goods, small kitchen appliances, home décor, housewares, area rugs, wood-slat Hunter Douglas blinds, early Christmas items, children’s clothing, toys and more. Estate Treasures again is accepting these items for donation, in good, working condition. Contact the store for details about dropping off donations.
Items not acceptable for donation are treadmills and stationary bikes, TVs, medical equipment, large appliances, mattresses, used building materials, computers and computer equipment, tires, used automotive or boat parts, and books.
